Cappucino Art

Lunch at a local restaurant that I had been meaning to check out revealed a
delicious surprises. The pizza I ate was fantastic, and the cappucino was a
work of art ! Really!, I didn’t know if I should drink it or bring it home and put
in on the wall. Truly, remarkable artwork ! it also did taste as good as it looked.

Osaragi Saroh

Private Dinner Party at Osaragi Saroh in Kamakura.
a very old and traditional residence turned into a tea shop.
Osaragi Saroh also caters to wedding parties and private parties.
The party I attended was a gathering a tailors, and people of other
bespoke related industries. The wine and food were first class, just delicious.
The heavy rains kept us inside allowing us to relax and totally enjoy the
antiquated ambiance.

I guess the combination of wine and ambiance sent me on a photo spree with my
iPhone that continued even after the party was over. Using one of the photo
apps in my iPhone to give the photos the old film look movie stills look I
just kept snapping.

Birthday Week

CIMG9085_sm

Christmas is a nice time of the year but so is Birthday Week.
Yes, WEEK, 7 days of private and public celebration. In these busy times with
busy and uncoventional schedules, it really makes sense to be able to catch up to
family and friends.

CIMG9134_sm
Officially the actual birthdate is October 1st and the celebration starts on
the 1st and ends on the 7th.

CIMG9096_sm

Enjoyed a low key, satisfying meal at Yutenji-Diner. The meal featured this
shio motsu nabe, among other delicacies. (everything seems to taste good there)

Of course there were many other restaurants bars and places of celebration but
this year I took the time to savor the moment and didn’t take many pictures.

Soleil Provence Beach Cleaning Event

Oct. 4th
My friends at Soleil Provence organized a beach cleaning event in Kugenuma.
This was my first beach cleaning and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

CIMG9207_sm

The cleaning was about 30mins where a nice group of people got together
and had fun cleaning and also surveying the collected items (they took a count).
CIMG9191_sm

back at Soleil Provence the baker had some choice items ready to serve up
to the hungry volunteers

Yes but there was also wine
CIMG9266_sm

and champagne ! which was really refreshing !

it was truly a nice time ! I don’t think all beach cleaning events are like this but
I was glad to have gone to this one.

Toshiro Mifune Restaurant Opening!

Friday June 26th 2009, was the Opening Reception of the Japanese film legend
Toshiro Mifune. Although he has passed away the restaurant is being run by his family
is located in Tokyo (Roppongi) and is called
Mifune.

The Entrance had a cool Toshiro mifune artwork.
The guy who is on his knees takes care of the guests shoes.

That night we dined on various large kushiyaki, edamame and assorted dishes.
Kushiyaki is the specialty of the restaurant.

CIMG7014_sm

The decor was old school traditional japanese, similar to many of the sets of
some of Toshiro Mifune’s well known films. The food and the vibe was very
“otoko poi” (manly) just as Mr. Mifune is portrayed and remembered in his films.

BEEFEATER 24 Reception at Park Hyatt

It was NICE to go to a reception where everyone dresses well, maybe it was because the venue was
the Park Hyatt Hotel 39th floor...?
Had to ask someone to take a quick shot,
me and my boys Kentaro (on the left) and Tatsuro (on the right)
